Jason Manford: Muddle Class

Comedian Jason Manford returns to the stage in his “Muddle Class” tour, which will feature material about his life growing up in a “working class” family. Manford pokes fun at how part of him has become “middle class,” causing a lot of confusion.

Manford’s last tour “First World Problems” was highly successful and sold out in more than 200 venues.

The tour comes ahead of the comedian’s new gameshow called Bigheads, in which the contestants wear prosthetic heads.

“Muddle Class” will make stops throughout the UK, including the Regent Theatre, Bath Halls, Princess Theatre, Edinburgh Playhouse, Victoria Hall and more. The tour will wrap up on May 26.

Manford was born in Salford, Lancashire, and began his career in 1999. Actor, comedian, writer, and radio and television presenter, Manford first took the stage at the age of 17.

While working at the Buzz Comedy Club in Chorlton, Manchester, he was picking up glasses when a performer failed to arrive at an evening set. Manford stepped in to fill in the gap, and the rest is history.

After his sixth gig, Manford was named The City Life North West Comedian of the Year.

Manford was nominated for the Perrier Award in Edinburgh in 2005 for the show Urban Legends. The show featured stories that happen to “a friend of a friend.” He played comedy clubs in the UK and gigs abroad, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, China and Singapore.

He made his first television on a panel show on Channel 4, and would go on to take over Dave Spikey’s role of Team Captain from 2007 to 2011.

In 2011, Manford hosted his own comedy show called Comedy Rocks on ITV1. He started hosting a radio show on XFM Manchester from 2007 through 2008.

The following year, Manford hosted Jason Manford and Friends on the BBC Radio 2 station, which brought in the best comedians from more than 750 acts.

The comedian has won several awards, including the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year (2000), Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act (2006) and North West Comedy Awards for the Best Stand Up on the North West Circuit (2006).

He recently hosted The Nightly Show for five episodes as a guest presenter. He also presented at The Biggest Night in British Theatre – The Olivier Awards and is slated to make an appearance on Benidorm.

Manford recently released his third DVD release First World Problems and an autobiography entitled Bring Up Proper.
